Concept information
Preferred term
tag / seal
Definition
- A distinct type of Chinese tag and a concept. As a graphic tag, the Tag/Seal uses the shape of a Chinese traditional seal, usually red and circular. As a concept, the Tag/Seal type illustrates how the American tag concept has been reinterpreted by Chinese writers as a modern seal, aligning with the graffiti-logo trend, especially among crews or writers with commercial objectives. In this context, a tag can also manifest as a chengyu (a four-character idiom), a poem, a seal, or a concept.
