Concept information
Preferred term
cursive script
Definition
- This is the most freeform and abstract of the Chinese calligraphic styles. It is characterized by rapid, flowing lines, often omitting certain strokes or combining several into one line. This results in a highly expressive, yet less readable, form of writing. It is primarily used for artistic expression rather than formal communication.
