digital edition

Definizione

  • A digital edition is a scholarly edition guided by a digital paradigm in its theory, method and practice (Sahle, 2016). As with analogue scholarly editions it must offer access to multiple versions of a text but does so via the use of online interfaces. These interfaces in turn must include one or more services and tools for users to engage with the text and its evolution, such as for examples visualizing differences between versions or analyzing text using concordances and frequency indexes. Digital editions may offer the ability to download texts and related metadata or critical information in a variety of formats.
