Definition

  • A digital collection is a collection of resources, with a unified format or available in a variety of formats, selected and organized for a specific purpose. A digital collection must also include descriptive and/or organizational metadata for the resources it contains and may be presented as part of a digital library or independently. Its metadata is assumed to be publicly available while the resources (data) may be accessible via a web interface and/or downloadable copies.
