digital catalogue
Definition
- A digital catalogue enables searching for, identifying, and locating specific instances of other resources based on a unifying theme (such as format or subject). The findable resources should be detailed with descriptive metadata and may be accessible directly from the catalog or from a third-party service or source. Searching functionality in a digital catalogue should include various parameters based on the type of resource being catalogued. A digital catalogue can also act as the interface to a census of resources for example to facilitate their visibility or accessibility.
