- Olympias (c. 375–316 BCE) was a Molossian princess, daughter of King Neoptolemus I of Epirus and sister of Alexander I of Epirus. As the wife of Philip II of Macedon and mother of Alexander the Great, she played a crucial role in her son’s upbringing and emerged as the de facto leader of Macedon during his campaigns, exerting significant political influence
