  • Magas of Cyrene (d. 250 BCE) was a Macedonian ruler and king of Cyrene from 276 BCE until his death. The son of Berenice I and incorporated into the Ptolemaic dynasty after his mother’s marriage to Ptolemy I, he first served as governor and later as king, strengthening the political autonomy of Cyrenaica within the Hellenistic world
