- Queen regnant of Cyrenaica from 258 to 246 BCE and later queen of Ptolemaic Egypt as the wife of Ptolemy III, Berenice II Euergetis was a prominent member of the Lagid dynasty. Daughter of Magas of Cyrene and known for her active political role, she is sometimes regarded as co‑regent of her husband and contributed significantly to the shaping of Ptolemaic dynastic identity
